Sustainability

All our wood is locally sourced. No air miles and little transporting involved. Our closest source of wood is located less than one mile away from the yard. Each piece of wood is selected under strict sustainability management protocol, ensuring exceptional quality while protecting forests for future generations.

After the logs are seasoned for a long period of time (the process that allows water and sap to evaporate), they are then processed and stored in barns to naturally air dry for months, reducing the moisture to less than <20%. This is the most sustainable practice, compared to kiln drying, whereby it does not burn one commodity to dry another, adding no carbon to the atmosphere and helps retain a low carbon footprint.

Our logs are delivered in an eco-friendly way, in cubic meter “Bins”, with no plastic used.

Nothing Goes to Waste

  • Wood splinters supply a local biomass boiler to heat several houses.
  • Sawdust is used for local animal bedding.
